Spectrum Poems:
Gray Day
The almost white cloud start to change into their gray haven. Tears begin to fall from "gloomy" clouds, but not of sadness. Drops start to pull a blanket over the shoreline as if it's time for rest. Each skipping rock echoing with the raindrops upon returning home. And I guide those homesick stones back, knowing that I too have a home to return to. |
"SHake the Dust" by Anis Mojgani:
My version:
Something Happens
Every day something happens, good or bad.
Every day someone is told "I love you."
Every day someone is told "I don't love you."
Something happens for good or bad
Every day someone is a laughing hyena
Every day someone has lengthened sadness
for "Not having that which,
having, makes them short"
Something happens
Every day is someone's birth
Every day is someone's death
Something happens
Every day someone may shine
like rays of sunshine
Every day someone else may shine
as bright as the midnight stars
Some may face the world with negativity
while others with positivity
Every day a new sun rises while another sets.
Every day something happens, good or bad.
Every day someone is told "I love you."
Every day someone is told "I don't love you."
Something happens for good or bad
Every day someone is a laughing hyena
Every day someone has lengthened sadness
for "Not having that which,
having, makes them short"
Something happens
Every day is someone's birth
Every day is someone's death
Something happens
Every day someone may shine
like rays of sunshine
Every day someone else may shine
as bright as the midnight stars
Some may face the world with negativity
while others with positivity
Every day a new sun rises while another sets.
